First Impressions – Lagoon SEVENTY 8
Working with high-end cars for the last 20 years and a life lived on the sea, Alex tells us his first impressions of the glorious Lagoon SEVENTY 8.
What better way to get to know the boat than to head out on Sydney Harbour.
First glance
“Walking up to the boat, the volume is quite imposing, the room on-board is much bigger than I ever expected. The fit and finish is incredible. They have thought about every element, from the way the handles open, to the way the hatches close.

Performance
With all the optional equipment, this vessel is fit for world cruising. It’s set up with three cabins, the galley is a professional galley, chefs would be more than at home.
Performance of the boat on the water was incredible. We cruised at 13kts and at one point we got up to 20kts. The stability on the harbour was amazing, at one point we were in the middle of the ferry channel but at no point did the boat move around.
Fly higher
Sensational vision from the flybridge gave us a full 360 panoramic view, I could see myself spending lots of time up there.
Something that really stood out for me was the many areas to entertain. On the foredeck there is enough room for 7 or 8 people and the flybridge which could entertain a dozen people.

Effortless elegance
There is no expensive spared, no corners cut, there is only the best equipment on board including Miele appliances in the kitchen, Bose sound system and Simrad navigation on both the flybridge and cabin helm station.
Effortless ocean miles, room for dozens of people, it’s really an incredible boat.”
This Lagoon SEVENTY 8 really stands out, with very little in the market to compare to these standards…
The exact vessel Alex tested is now on the market in Sydney.
